(Is it worth it in Kusina Moderne?) I personally experienced the food and services in Kusina Moderne in Poblacion, Makati. It was really surprising for a local food restaurant.
Opened in May 2019, Kusina Moderne offers a contemporary Filipino dishes mixed with French cooking techniques while retaining traditional flavors.
The restaurant’s concept is to modernize and reimagine Filipino delicacies with French cooking techniques without making the whole menu fancier with our budgets.
The plan of putting up this restaurant started seven years ago by Chef Carlo Gunio, Irelll Perez, and together with Albert Uy.
We have personally interview and dine with Chef Carlo and he shared with us his culinary experiences in Canada and French Embassy.
“We just wanted our diners to be satisfied. I’m happy that I can make them happy through the dishes I created. That’s a satisfaction for me as well,” -Chef Carlo
I’ll be sharing the pictures of some of the foods in their menu. One of my favorite is their Cheese Tart.
The restaurant's ambiance is comforting and has an accent of filipino modern interior. The staffs and their services were also commendable. Moreover, I've enjoyed our dine together with some of my Hey Manila bloggers family. All of their dishes were carefully hand-crafted in which is noticeable with their plating techniques. It is also true that they have reinvented the famous Filipino dishes and still retain the flavor such as their Adobong Pusit.

To answer the headline's question, It is worth it to experience this modern culinary dishes of our country's specialties made by our fellow Filipino chefs. For its price ranging from 250 to 500 pesos, I consider it as "sulit" for a fine dining experience. In short, all of their dishes are must try!
